


Perimenopause

Hormonal Changes: Fluctuating hormone levels cause the ovaries to gradually produce less oestrogen.
Menopause
Definition: The point in time when a woman has not had a menstrual period for 12 consecutive months.
Symptoms: Continuation of perimenopausal symptoms, potentially with increased intensity.
Hormonal Changes: Marked by significantly reduced oestrogen and progesterone levels.
Postmenopause
Definition: The years following menopause.
Symptoms: Many symptoms of menopause may continue, but the risk of certain health conditions, such as osteoporosis and heart disease, increases.
Hormonal Changes: Very low levels of oestrogen and progesterone.
